Of the twelve Saivite Canonical works, sublime is Tiruvaachakam to endow meaning in essence to the eighth maxim of Bodham. Lord severally assumes forms holy, as of temple deities to worship, as of preceptors to confer gnosis on the initiates, and as servitors who are touring temples to serve the flock Sastras affirm the Holy Mien of Lord is a conglomerate of Guru, Linga and the moving Genera.
They that consecrate Tirumurai-Shrines posit Tiruvaachakam in the Holy Threshold of the Shrine's structure. No wonder, ardent Saivaites of our land, for long have kept up the tradition of propitiating the sacred leaves of Tiruvaachakam script passing for siva-linga in their view. Many exegeses for Tiruvaachakam have been written in Tamil and are being written by the pious from time to time.
The translation of Tiruvachakam into English with comments and notes by Tiruvachagamani Sri K. M. Balasubramaniam is a laudable attempt to make this great Tamil religious classic available to the non-Tamil public.
Sivalayam has sought and found rare works on Saivam and Scriptures and Ethics, and other translations and has published them.
